Leadership
Christ Community Church is currently led by a Core Leadership team of four brethren and overseen by a Board of Trustees.
Current Leadership
Ephrem Sahlu
Ephrem was born and raised in Ethiopia but has been living in Europe since he was 17. After first coming to study in the former Yugoslavia and successfully completing his medical studies, he moved to Britain in 1990 where he has made his home. Rescued by God from the brink of suicide, Ephrem has been following Christ for nearly 40 years and in His service for nearly thirty serving in a variety of roles – church deacon, elder, administrator, teacher and youth minister. He is currently the lead minister at CCC and has a desire to see God’s people reclaim the lost ground of true discipleship (John 8:31) and be released into the glorious works God has prepared beforehand for them to walk in (Eph 2:10).
In his spare time Ephrem enjoys reading and travelling. He describes himself as “purely a product of God’s mercy”. He is married to Meheret – a woman of grace – with whom his has four grown-up children.

Yonathan Seyoum
Yonathan was born and raised in London, growing up in Tottenham and attending school there. His parents came to know the Lord in 1998 when he was only 4 and they started to attend church as a family every Sunday. Although Yonathan was exposed to the word of God in his childhood and teenage years, his desires were for worldly things and God was not number one in his life. His life-changing encounter with the Lord happened at the age of 21 when God in his mercy convicted him of his sinful state and led him to repentance. Since then, Yonathan has been following Christ and has served God in a few roles and he is now a core leader at CCC.
He is married to Eden, who he describes as ‘an incredible wife and mother’. They have a baby girl named Isabella and the family live in Essex.

Benjamin Sintayehu
Benjamin is one of the core leaders at CCC. He is training to become a teacher at a secondary school in South London and his desire is to see the bride of Christ grow in the knowledge of Jesus Christ and be transformed into his likeness.
Benjamin serves at CCC leading a cell group in central London as well as sharing the word and co-leading worship sets on occasion.
The day-to-day responsibility to shepherd the flock of God and to exercise spiritual oversight over the church belongs to Elders who are under-shepherds of the Lord Jesus, the head of the church (1 Peter 5:2; Acts 20:26-32). Accordingly, the Church is proactively working on growing and transitioning existing members of the Core Leadership team (and others) into the roles of scriptural eldership by intentionally preparing and equipping them for it. At the same time the congregation will be brought into a fuller and scriptural understanding of the roles and responsibilities of elders.
Trustees are appointed in compliance with existing charity legislation in England and Wales and serve to ensure good governance, financial fidelity and legislative compliance in all areas.
In addition, Christ Community Church is a member of the Evangelical Alliance UK and Forge (formerly South central) family of of churches. Forge is a collaboration of churches in the Salt & Light UK network which primarily connects through relationship. At its core, Forge values the relationship between member churches, celebrates the determination to focus on mission and is resolved in working effectively together to further God’s kingdom in our area of the UK.
