Our story
Christ Community Church is made up of people eager to share Christ with the many nations represented in London.
The church was planted out of a London based ethnic community (Ethiopian) Church as a result of a vision from the Lord to reach out over and beyond ethnic borderlines into the multicultural London communities we all belong to with the good news of Jesus Christ. The vision is to see people of all nationalities reached through lives transformed by Christ who go on to confidently share and powerfully impact their environments with their faith. Our mission is to impact our environments with the love and power of Christ bringing wholesome transformation and renewal to individuals and communities we are connected to and are part of.
This multinational identity of the church was in response to the vision and appreciation of the need for effective outreach with the good news of Christ and His kingdom among the multiple nationalities represented in London and beyond. It represents a response to the great commission of Christ and a clear statement of missional intent for all nations. The transition into a multinational church occurred at the end of 2017 with a seed of mostly second generation of the mother church members. Ever since then, Christ Community Church’s reach has intentionally broadened to include all nations and nationalities represented in our communities.
At its core, Christ Community church is about permeating our environments (where we live, work and do life) with the person and love of Jesus Christ through our own personal stories of transformation lived out in community. The strategy of planting churches in our native communities and environments is key to the success of the vision.
Christ Community Church is a registered charity with The Charity Commission of England and Wales, registration number 1179277, a member of the Evangelical Alliance, membership number 251804 and a member of the FORGE (formerly Salt & Light) family of churches.
